The largest standard double in the house. Three tall arched windows pull in light all day, and the layout has just enough breathing room for an armchair you'll actually use. The one we'd pick ourselves when a stay deserves a little more space without paying for a view upgrade.

Best for: Couples treating themselves to a longer stay.

Our smallest and most affordable double, and the room we put the most design thought into per square metre. Botanical wallpapers, brass sconces, considered fabrics. You're out exploring Karaköy by day; this is a tightly composed base to come back to, not a room to spend the afternoon in.

The highest windows in the house. A double on the top floor with an open outlook over Karaköy rooftops: domes, minarets, the long shape of the city beyond. We made the room slightly more compact to give the view more room. Mornings here are quiet; the call to prayer carries clearly.

Best for: Photographers and morning people who want Istanbul in the frame.
